Discover Some of The Best Wineries in Europe

Exclusive Access with NetJets
Europe is home to some of the very best wineries in the world. Discover four of our favourites:

Castello del Terriccio

Castello del Terriccio is nestled in some of the wildest Tuscan countryside, in a region where pheasants, roe deer and wild boar still roam amid the rolling hills and dense forests.

Owned by the descendants of Count Serrafini Ferri, who bought it in the 1920s, and under the stewardship of Dr Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana, the estate has come to be one of the most celebrated producers of fine wines. It has been producing Tassinaia for a quarter of a century – a mellow and harmonious wine that is blended and aged in the bottle for at least a year after spending the previous 14 to 16 months ageing in barriques and tonneaux of French oak.

While the estate may be small - just 62 of the 900 cultivated hectares are under vine – this doesn’t take anything away from its allure. Quintessentially Tuscan, olive groves, holly and oak trees play host to roaming Limousin cattle and Italian saddle horses. The estate attracts visitors from around the globe who stay in the exceptionally charming seven- bedroom Marrana villa on-site.

Onboard all NetJets flights, we offer the Tassinaia blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. It is the perfect wine to drink onboard as it not only an ideal drinking wine, but it is best drunk five minutes after opening.

Château Cheval Blanc

One of the most stunning wineries in the world, the historic Château Cheval Blanc can be found in the Saint-Emilion, right on the border of Pomerol. Made up of 39 hectares divided into forty-five plots, the winery boasts an incredible variety of vines and grapes due to the many different soil types found across the area - making their wine incredibly complex. 49% of the grapes grown are Cabernet Franc; 47% Merlot; and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Archives show that vines have been grown at Cheval Blanc at least as far back as the 15th century, with the configuration on the vineyard barely changing at all since 1832. The wine was first sold under the name Cheval Blanc in 1852 and marked the beginning of an extremely prestigious career.

The château was acquired by Bernard Arnault and Baron Albert Frère in 1998 and the pair went on to inject a dynamic new spirit, while respecting the château’s history and existing facilities. Today, you’ll find state-of-the-art cellars complete with the latest in technology, while still being guided by wine experts.

Château Haut-Brion

Located in the town of Pessac, just a few kilometres from Bordeaux, Château Haut-Brion is the oldest wine growing property in the region.

The first of the three estates acquired by the Dillon family, the vineyard covers an area of 51 hectares: 48 are planted with red grapes (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) and nearly 3 hectares are devoted to white grape varieties (Sémillon and Sauvignon).

One of the most legendary wines it the world, Château Haut-Brion was purchased by Clarence Dillon in 1935, who restored it to its former glory and created the extraordinary vineyard it is today. The estate is now represented by Prince Robert of Luxembourg - the fourth generation of the family.

Château Latour

Château Latour is located in the heart of the Médoc wine region, about 50 km north-west of Bordeaux – the birthplace of the legend the Bordeaux vineyards.

The château's prime terroir, l’Enclos, is just 300 metres from Gironde estuary – its location is what gives it such special character and tempers any extreme weather conditions, especially spells of severe cold or frost.

The property is planted with about 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
