Our Programs & Aircraft
March 2018

Since its inception in 1934, the Masters Golf Tournament has been a favorite among golfers and golf enthusiasts. Although the tournament draws tens of thousands of spectators to Augusta, Georgia, each year, we proactively plan so that the influx of flights does not impact our Owners.

Flying Privately into Augusta

The Masters is the first of four major championships to be played each year and is hosted at the prestigious and exclusive Augusta National Golf Club. Our preferred airport is Augusta Regional Airport because of its proximity and versatility. All aircraft in the NetJets fleet can fly into Augusta Regional, and it’s only 20 minutes from the course. But depending on our Owners’ preferences and travel arrangements, we freely fly into Aiken Municipal Airport and Thomson-McDuffie Regional Airport, both of which are about 30 minutes away from the tournament. While Daniel Field is closest to the tournament, operations are limited by the short runway and strict weather requirements.

The Best Times to Fly to the Masters

Volume and capacity are not concerns for NetJets at the Masters Tournament. Our large and versatile fleet of approximately 700 private jets1 can get Owners into and out of Augusta at any time. The FBOs, however, will be busiest on the Friday of tournament week and on the Sunday immediately following tournament play. To avoid the crowds, flying outside those times is advised.

Bespoke Service

While there may be a greater number of flights to Augusta Regional Airport, NetJets Owners can always expect personalized service. From the time an Owner requests a flight, their Owner Services Team works to understand the specifics around the trip and coordinates with NetJets staff who will be on-site. We make suggestions on aircraft based on the number of passengers and the potential for increased luggage. We arrange ground transportation and assure that it is waiting for the Owner at the FBO. Every detail is taken care of so that NetJets flights to Augusta for the Masters Golf Tournament are effortless and efficient—as are all NetJets flights.
